# Portuguese Wine

Portugal is most famous for its wide variety of fortified wines, or Ports, sweet, rich deliciously complex dessert wines.

- Tawny
- Ruby
- White Port
- Late Bottle Vintage
- Crusted
- Vintage Port
- Single Quinta Vintage Port

The island of Madeira also makes a distinctly delicious style of fortified wine, owing to the fact that it is purposefully baked. The wines in order from lightest to heaviest:

- Rainwater
- Sercial
- Verdelho
- Bual
- Malmsey

Having said that this region does not lack for delicious, dry well-priced table wines as well.
